The Amsterdam Family YMCA is a non-profit, health and human services organization committed to helping people reach their full potential in spirit, mind and body. YMCAs are here to serve people of all ages, backgrounds, abilities, and incomes. The Y is community-based and believes that its programs and services should be available to everyone. That’s why the Y offers an OPEN DOORS program.

OPEN DOORS

OPEN DOORS is a sliding fee scale that is designed to fit each individual’s financial situation. The Y believes a strong sense of ownership and pride is developed if the recipient has contributed to the cost of their Y involvement; therefore, you will be asked to pay some portion of the fees. The funds available for OPEN DOORS are made possible through the generosity of our members, volunteers and community donors in the annual fundraising campaign and through special events. In instances where the cost of membership or program may prevent an individual or family from participating, the Y will, based on available resources, offer financial assistance as specified by our OPEN DOORS financial assistance policy.

Membership includes unlimited use of our facility, some programs, and special rates on others.
The Amsterdam Family YMCA is on a campus of over 35 acres which allows us to offer outdoor sports, summer camping, nature and snowshoe trails and many other programs which the whole family can enjoy. In addition there is a pavilion under which we can hold arts and crafts and other Summer Day Camp activities.

YMCA Hours of Operation:
Monday - Thursday from 5:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Fridays from 5:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Sundays from 10:00am to 2:00pm during Feb through April 2012. Closed Easter Sunday.
